ABOUT
SHAVE ICE
OUR PLACE
Happy in a Cup
What started out as a dream or idea became reality when our extended family came back to Washington state from living on Hawaii and Oahu, with them they brought Myke’s SHAVE ICE to Whatcom County (Bellingham Farmer’s Market). We were living in Arizona at the time and Brian decided to pursue the building of his first cart about 20+ years ago. The intent was to sell SHAVE ICE at special events in Scottsdale. Unfortunately, due to one of us having to re-locate for our F/T job, this dream did not become reality in Arizona. It wasn’t until 2007, in Washington state did this dream materialize. It started off slow, initially doing church and community picnics as both Brian and Jacqueline had other jobs and spent most of their time shuffling their children to/from their activities.
In 2008, Hawaiian ParadICE began surfacing at gymnastics competitions and a couple soccer tournaments and was a huge hit. From here the business began to grow and we committed to regular weekly farmers markets and other special events & festivals. In 2010, Brian built another smaller portable cart so Jacqueline could do events during the week, predominately, Snohomish Farmers Market on Thursdays May-August. With the children learning the business and with many ice shaving machines and 3 full set-ups, Hawaiian ParadICE was now able to provide more SHAVE ICE to more customers at more events in Snohomish County.
COVID-19 negatively impacted our business in 2020 and 2021. Due to US health regulations we were unable to operate. We re-started the business for the summer 2022 and were welcomed back by our Farmer Market Managers, customers a few special event organizers.
We are looking forward to summer 2024 and bringing Snohomish County the best Shave ICE around!
The rest is history in the making.
